AMEC Model Specifications

AMEC MODEL 4775S

The Model 4775S system has on-board non-volatile data storage and programmable features providing maximum flexibility for data collection and recovery of measured data.  An industry standard RS232 interface provides a variety of options for system control and data management while a number of power supply options are available for convenience of installation.  The 4775S System consists of four basic components; transport assembly, sensor array, system module and power supply.

The transport assembly operates automatically at a predetermined scan interval by driving a threaded ball screw via a stepper motor.  The ball screw raises all 8 sensors simultaneously via a common fibreglass core.  Once the measurement cycle is complete, the stepper motor reverses and returns the 8 sensors to their initial pre-scan positions.

The sensor array consists of eight individual sensors each containing a reed switch that is suspended in the borehole and positioned in proximity to allocated magnetic targets.  The reed switches close as they reach the influence of a magnetic target. The sensor states are continuously interrogated during the raising cycle and only the initial trigger position is recorded.

The vertical position of the triggered sensor array is referenced against the stepper motor and recorded by the system module. The on-board microprocessor manages all control and data storage processes including scan intervals, data storage, data retrieval, data transmission, programmable functions, power optimisation and system diagnostic checking.

The power supply can be configured by a number of options and consumption of power is optimised by all the system electronics switching to "sleep" mode when not required.

AMEC MODEL 4775A

The Model 4775A has been designed to operate in conjunction with an external data logger and presents settlement data via eight analogue voltage outputs to the logger.  All timekeeping, data storage and data recovery functions are controlled by the data logger, which requires three dedicated I/O lines for communication to the AMEC system.  The System consists of four basic components; transport assembly, sensor array, system module and power supply.

The vertical position of the triggered sensor array is referenced against the stepper motor and processed by the system module.  The on-board microprocessor manages all internal control and data manipulation procedures including power optimisation and system diagnostic checking.   Operations such as scan intervals, data storage and data recovery must be programmed into the data logger which requires three dedicated I/O control lines to communicate with the AMEC System.

The power supply can be configured by a number of options and consumption of power is optimised by all the system electronics switching to "sleep" mode when not required.

AMEC MODEL 4775V

The Model 4775V system has on-board non-volatile data storage and programmable features providing maximum flexibility for data collection and recovery of measured data.  The system can also record additional data from up to 8 vibrating wire piezometers.  An industry standard RS232 interface provides a variety of options for system control and data management while a number of power supply options are available for convenience of installation.  The system consists of four basic components; transport assembly, sensor array, system module and power supply.
